  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
  • 2 cups pasta (elbow or shell)
  • 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Cook pasta according to package instructions, drain and set aside.
  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat, sauté onion and garlic until softened.
  • Add ground beef, cook until browned and fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
  • Stir in diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Let simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Mix in cooked pasta, then transfer mixture to a casserole dish.
  • Top with shredded cheddar cheese.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 15-20 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Remove from oven, let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add bell peppers or mushrooms to the sautéed onions.
  • You can substitute cheddar cheese with mozzarella or a cheese blend.
  • Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days.
